Nigel was a member of the Best Western Marketing committee for eight years.

Working as a hotel consultant, he has advised many hotels and hoteliers and for over three years, has supported, promoted and advised the Concord Hotels Management Training Scheme. Recent projects include a hotels in Wales and East Anglia, a German hotel group and helping to set up a commercial hotel training school in Kent.

Nigel’s experience and consultancy work goes beyond the Hotel Industry: he launched the Supported Employment Scheme for the Royal British Legion Poppy Factory across the UK, helping more than 70 disabled ex-service personnel into employment. As a former chairman of the Stroud Chamber of Trade and vice-president of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, he has helped and advised a variety of businesses and has worked closely with district and county councils.

Nigel is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality. In 2014, he published his first book, The Miracle of Michmash. It tells the true story of a World War One battle between the British and Turks in Palestine, north of Jerusalem that intentionally mirrored a battle that took place in exactly the same place 3000 years ago.
